Inspire Education Group’s (IEG) Engineering department shared a delicious Christmas lunch at Peterborough College’s award-winning Parcs Restaurant with local and regional engineering employers, marking the culmination of a productive and collaborative year of partnership.

The occasion provided an opportunity for both IEG and representatives of Baker Perkins, McCain Foods (GB) Ltd, Howden Turbo UK, Rivercircle, Codem Composites Ltd, Bakkavor, EF Engineering and AMFRESH Group to celebrate their partnerships, but also to reflect on the successful initiatives and endeavours undertaken throughout the year. Bridging the gap between academia and industry, collaborations with local employers support the evolving needs and skill sets required in the ever-changing landscape of engineering.

Commenting on the significance of the gathering, Assistant Principal of Curriculum Study Programmes and T Levels at IEG, Gary McPartland, expressed his gratitude and shared optimism for the future, “This Christmas lunch is a testament to the strong relationship we’ve built with our local engineering partners. Together, we’ve accomplished significant milestones and have worked tirelessly to ensure our educational offering aligns with the demands of the industry.”

The event was a fantastic reminder of the importance of such partnerships in driving meaningful change within the engineering education sector, benefiting both students and the industry at large. Thank you to all those that attended.
