Inspire Education Group Celebrates National T Levels Week, Showcasing Student Success and Industry Partnerships

Inspire Education Group (IEG) is celebrating National T Levels Week 2026 by highlighting how students at Peterborough College and Stamford College are gaining valuable industry experience, developing technical skills and progressing into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.

As demand for skilled professionals continues across key sectors, IEG is showcasing the role of technical education in preparing young people for the workplace and supporting the future workforce needs of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and the surrounding regions.

Developed in collaboration with employers, T Levels are two-year technical qualifications equivalent in size to three A Levels. They combine classroom-based learning with practical industry experience, with students spending approximately 80% of their course in education and 20% completing an industry placement of at least 45 days.

Across Peterborough College and Stamford College, students can access a diverse range of T Level pathways aligned with regional skills priorities, including:

  • Health and Science: Supporting the Adult Nursing Team and specialist clinical pathways.
  • Business and Marketing: Developing commercial, project management and business administration skills.
  • Education and Early Years: Preparing students for careers supporting children's learning and development.
  • Engineering and Construction: Including Building Services Engineering and Electrical Installation.
  • Digital: Developing technical expertise through Digital Software Development.
  • Animal Care: Providing specialist knowledge and practical experience in animal management.

Both colleges also work closely with employers to provide meaningful industry placements, enabling students to apply their learning in professional environments, build confidence and develop the skills employers value.

These opportunities are already supporting successful progression into higher education and degree apprenticeships.

At Peterborough College, Early Years T Level student Darcy Reynolds completed her industry placement at Parcs Nursery before progressing to study a full Education degree at University Centre Peterborough (UCP).

Meanwhile, Chloe Massam, a Business and Marketing student at Stamford College, used her industry placement to develop valuable professional skills, leading to a Council Award nomination and securing a Business Management Degree Apprenticeship.

T Levels also offer a recognised route into higher education, with students able to achieve up to 168 UCAS tariff points for a Distinction*, equivalent to three A* grades at A Level.

The importance of technical education and industry experience is being recognised nationally as part of this year's celebrations.

Minister for Skills, Jacqui Smith, said:

"This government is determined to give technical and vocational education the same status and recognition as the academic route. T Levels are showing what is possible when high-quality education is combined with meaningful industry experience, enabling more young people to gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to thrive."

Through its partnerships with regional employers, IEG continues to strengthen the connection between education and industry, ensuring students have opportunities to gain practical experience while helping businesses develop their future talent pipelines.
