Stamford College Receives International Building and Construction Green Apple Environment Award

Stamford College’s Modern Methods of Construction Centre (MMC), which provides state-of-the-art learning and teaching resources for students studying plumbing, carpentry, brickwork and electrical installation, has won an International Building and Construction Green Apple Environment Award, following a prestigious ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Trophies were awarded to winners from across the globe, honouring buildings and structures that positively impact the built and visual environment, as well as incorporating eco-friendly benefits such as recycling, reusing materials, traditional skills, and reduced emissions.
The Inspire Education Group (IEG) £3.3m facility, co-funded by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP) and the Department for Education, was recognised for its focus on automation, carbon reduction, and prefabrication, reflecting modern construction trends. Meanwhile, its exposed interior walls with glass panels allow students to observe construction layers, emphasising the educational aspect of sustainable building practices.
Wayne Granger, Health and Safety Officer of Inspire Education Group, remarked, “The awards ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral was a momentous occasion for us all. As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to taking collective action towards a greener future, knowing that every step we take contributes to the wellbeing of our planet and the future generations we serve”.
