Hi Group visits Inspire Education Group to explore links between education and industry

Representatives from Hi Group visited Inspire Education Group’s (IEG) specialist construction and green technology facilities this week to learn more about the Group’s approach to skills development and explore the importance of stronger links between education and industry.

The visit saw representatives tour the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) facilities at Stamford College alongside the Centre for Green Technology (CGT) at Peterborough College, gaining insight into how IEG is preparing students for careers in construction, sustainability and emerging green industries.

The connection was initially established through an introduction from one of IEG’s Governors, creating an opportunity for wider discussions around the evolving needs of industry and the role education providers can play in supporting future workforce development.

During the visit, discussions focused on IEG’s curriculum offerings and how they align with the changing skills needs of employers, particularly in sustainability, net-zero technologies, and modern construction methods. Conversations also explored the value of industry engagement in education, including advisory input, employer insights, and opportunities to help students better understand workplace expectations.

The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between colleges and employers in helping address skills challenges, strengthen industry awareness and support long-term economic growth across the region.
