Inspire Education Group (IEG) continues to strengthen its links with leading employers to ensure students are developing the skills needed for the future workforce, with Hitachi Energy UK recently delivering a specialist session for electrical students at Stamford College.
The session provided students with the opportunity to hear directly from a global leader in the green energy sector, gaining insight into how renewable energy technologies are designed, manufactured and deployed. Students learned about the equipment and components manufactured by Hitachi Energy to support green energy infrastructure, alongside an overview of the jobs market within the sector and the skills required to be employable.
Around 90 full-time students studying Level 1, 2 and 3 City & Guilds Electrical qualifications attended, benefiting from practical industry insight to support their progression and career planning. The session also explored the significant levels of investment being made into green energy and emerging technologies, helping students understand the scale and long-term opportunities within the sector.
Employer-led workshops form just one part of IEG’s wider approach to employer engagement. The Group works closely with businesses to shape curriculum, inform course content and ensure training reflects current and future industry needs.
By working with organisations such as Hitachi Energy UK, IEG supports students to develop industry-informed skills while helping employers contribute to the future talent pipeline. This collaborative approach plays a vital role in addressing skills gaps and preparing learners for careers in priority growth sectors, including green energy and electrical technologies.
