Inspire Education Group (IEG) recently welcomed representatives from the Department for Education (DfE) for an official visit focused on the future of post-16 English and maths qualifications.
The visit brought together colleagues from across the group to contribute to important national discussions surrounding the proposed Level 1 English and maths qualification reforms and their impact on student progression, aspiration, and long-term outcomes.
Discussions explored how future qualification pathways can best support learners studying within technical and vocational education, ensuring students continue to have ambitious progression opportunities while developing the essential skills needed for further study, employment, and lifelong success.
The visit also provided an opportunity for IEG colleagues to share sector insight, practical experience, and perspectives from across curriculum areas, helping inform conversations around how reforms can work effectively for learners, educators, and employers.
As one of the region’s leading education groups, Inspire Education Group remains committed to contributing to wider conversations around education policy, skills development, and student success, ensuring the voices and experiences of learners and staff continue to help shape the future of further education.
