Inspire Education Group (IEG) is celebrating a landmark moment after securing three major sustainability accolades in just a few months, alongside an internal award recognising the exceptional contribution of its Estates team.
IEG has been awarded the Sustainability Award at the 2025 Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards, received a prestigious Silver International Green Apple Environment Award, and was formally commended by Investors in the Environment (iiE) for achieving over ten consecutive years of Green Level accreditation — the organisation’s highest standard.
These achievements highlight IEG’s long-standing commitment to environmental leadership, innovation, and operational excellence across its Peterborough and Stamford campuses.
Sector-Leading Sustainability Achievements
At the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards, judges recognised IEG for embedding sustainability throughout its curriculum, estate operations, and community engagement. The Group demonstrated measurable reductions in carbon emissions, major energy-efficiency improvements, and a strategic shift towards circular-economy practices — including the development of fully repurposed recycling stations made from decommissioned campus materials.

IEG’s environmental leadership was further recognised on an international stage with a Silver Green Apple Award, presented for its pioneering circular waste management project. Selected from global entrants, the award recognises the creative reuse of materials, reduction of environmental impact, and the implementation of cost-efficient recycling infrastructure across the Group.
The organisation has also maintained the highest-level Green Award from Investors in the Environment for more than a decade. The iiE commendation celebrates IEG’s consistency in delivering verifiable carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and robust environmental management across multiple campuses and buildings.
In 2024, IEG also won an International CSR Excellence Gold Award for Commitment to Environmental Initiatives.
Estates Team Named 2025 IEG Team of the Year
IEG’s Estates Team — responsible for managing and maintaining the Group’s extensive multi-site estate — was also named IEG’s Team of the Year, recognising their professionalism, resilience and delivery of major infrastructure projects.
In 2024/25 alone, the team successfully supported the launch of the highly anticipated Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College while simultaneously maintaining day-to-day operations across:

Their work ensured the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of all buildings, implementing estate-wide energy upgrades, overseeing renovations, coordinating campus improvements and supporting a growing student population of over 12,000.
