Inspire Education Group Hosts AoC Equity Exchange to Advance Inclusion Across Further Education

Inspire Education Group (IEG) welcomed further education professionals to Stamford College on Tuesday 20 October 2026, hosting an Association of Colleges (AoC) Equity Exchange event focused on strengthening equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across the sector.

The event formed part of the AoC's national Equity Exchange initiative, which brings together college practitioners to share experiences, challenge existing approaches and explore how institutions can create more inclusive environments for students and staff.

Hosted at Stamford College, part of Inspire Education Group, the session provided an opportunity for professionals from across the further education sector to connect, exchange ideas and reflect on approaches to advancing equity within their institutions.

The Equity Exchange initiative recognises that, while colleges across the country are developing innovative approaches to inclusion, valuable knowledge and best practice can often remain within individual organisations.

By creating opportunities for open dialogue and collaboration, the initiative aims to break down these barriers, encouraging practitioners to learn from one another and identify approaches that can make a meaningful difference to their college communities.

Central to the programme is the importance of creating a psychologically safe environment where participants feel empowered to share their experiences, challenge perspectives and explore new ideas.

For Inspire Education Group, hosting the event reflects its wider commitment to championing equality, diversity and inclusion as a strategic priority, ensuring that students and staff have opportunities to feel valued, supported and able to achieve their potential.

The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration across further education, recognising that meaningful progress towards equity requires institutions to work together, share learning and continually reflect on how their practices respond to the diverse needs of their communities.

Through initiatives such as the AoC Equity Exchange, colleges can strengthen professional networks, share practical approaches and contribute to a collective commitment to improving experiences and outcomes for learners and staff across the sector.

Further information about the initiative and upcoming sessions is available through the Association of Colleges.
