Inspire Education Group respond to employer demand for digital skills

Inspire Education Group (IEG) has been recognised by Region of Learning for its commitment to equipping learners with the digital skills increasingly demanded by employers across the region.

The recognition comes as digital skills continue to be highlighted as a key priority in the latest Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) labour market analysis, with employers placing growing importance on digital capability and transferable skills.

IEG is actively supporting adults entering the job market by embedding digital skills into its adult training provision, with recognition of achievement through the digital badge initiative. Already this academic year, over 150 digital badges have been issued across Terms 1 and 2, helping learners evidence both technical and employability skills aligned to local workforce needs.

Region of Learning, which works across Cambridge City Council and the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority to boost skills and create pathways into employment, volunteering and professional development, praised IEG’s proactive approach.

Region of Learning said:

“We’re delighted to celebrate the fantastic progress being made by Inspire Education Group (IEG), as they continue to embed Digital Badges across their programmes, issuing 150 Digital Badges across Terms 1 and 2 so far! IEG have embraced digital recognition with enthusiasm, and it’s already making a meaningful impact in the community.

“Engagement has been excellent, with students clearly recognising the value of validating their skills and achievements in this accessible, future-focused way.”

Digital badges provide learners with a practical, shareable way to evidence their skills, helping employers to quickly identify competencies in areas such as teamwork, confidence and industry-relevant digital capability. This strengthens the connection between education and employment, ensuring individuals are better prepared to meet the needs of the local economy.

By aligning its adult learning offer with regional demand, IEG is ensuring that learners are not only gaining qualifications, but developing the skills, behaviours and evidence employers are actively seeking.
