Inspire Education Group Shortlisted for National Environmental Excellence Award Alongside Major UK Energy Firms

Inspire Education Group (IEG) has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Commitment to the Environment category at the Employer's Excellence Awards 2026, recognising organisations that are leading the way in sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The national shortlist places IEG alongside some of the UK's most recognised organisations in the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors, including Cadent, Ecotricity, Octopus Energy and Scottish Power.

The recognition reflects IEG's commitment to sustainability through investment in industry-leading facilities, the development of green skills programmes and its work to support the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Over the past year, the Group has continued to strengthen its environmental credentials through initiatives including the Centre for Green Technology at Peterborough College and the Modern Methods of Construction Centre at Stamford College. Together, these facilities are helping to train the next generation of professionals in renewable energy, sustainable construction, electric vehicle technologies and low-carbon industries.

The nomination also recognises the Group's wider sustainability efforts, including embedding environmental awareness across its curriculum, reducing its environmental impact through campus initiatives and working closely with employers to ensure students develop the skills needed for emerging green careers.

The Employer's Excellence Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to their workforce, communities and the wider environment. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on 3 September 2026.

The shortlisting follows a period of significant investment by IEG in sustainability-focused education and training, supporting both regional economic growth and national net-zero ambitions.
